This weekend come out to Pete Livermore Sports Complex in Carson City to watch one of the oldest soccer tournaments in Northern Nevada that has grown into a premier futbol inter-state tournament. Started just for the region, it has grown every year.
Hosted by Carson Futbol Club, the Wild West Shootout has 116 teams will battle it out on the soccer field Saturday to make it to the finals on Sunday. The tourney commenced Friday night and will run all day Saturday and Sunday.
Today alone registration jumped from 109 teams to 116. Jana Ailes, referee coordinator said “This year we are hosting 116 teams, and the tournament is our biggest yet. It’s a well organized event that really focuses on good competition and fun.”
Outside of the Carson/Tahoe region, teams are traveling from as far away as Oregon, Utah and Idaho to participate.
It’s a great opportunity to get your children out there who don’t play or may be curious about a higher level of play than recreation soccer out there. Who knows? You may even see a future Messi or Ronaldo out there!
Visit the Wild West Shootout event page or follow Carson Futbol Club on Facebook for field maps and updates as the tournament goes on.
Good luck to all the teams attending and have fun out there!
