The current mayor is in jail following a bar fight. The most recent former mayor is facing federal charges after admitting to stealing nearly $400,000 from her church. A current school board trustee was arrested for allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from local organizations and businesses, including local schools — after running on a campaign of fiscal stewardship and transparency.
Edit: An update; I almost can’t believe it, but soon after I finished this, I learned from Paula that she put up a story today that another Tahoe organization has been defrauded for $2.5 million.
