Going with the September theme “patterns in nature,” local photographers took their cameras to explore the symmetry of plants and mushrooms, a weathered rock formation and even dipped toes in sparkling crystal waters for this month’s Carson City Photo Club competition.
There was a three-way tie for 3rd place. The winners are:
First Place: “Sunflower” by Belinda Nemeth (see photo above)
Second Place: “Green Flower” by Shirley Rash
Third Place: “Shrooms” by Dave Clarke
Third Place: “Swiss Cheesy” by Anke Simpson
Third Place: “Fern” by Dave Harrison
Winner’s Choice: “Magic!” by Monique Giron
The Carson City Photo Club meets at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month (no meeting in December) at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Ormsby Room, 911 East Musser. For those attending, use west entrance. All levels of photographers are welcome.
The theme for October is “Insects.” Become a member for only $15 per year and submit your 8×10 matted photo, taken within the last year, in the competition. Go here for more information.
