Terek Been, a graduate from Carson High School and a rower with the National Canadian rowing team, has set a Canadian record in rowing.
Been graduated CHS in 2016, and was a member of the CHS baseball program with Coach Manoukian.
Upon graduating, he attended University of Toronto earning his bachelors, and then to McGill University in Montreal, Quebec to obtain his Master’s.
He rowed for the University of Toronto for four years, and quickly made his way onto the Row Canada radar.
When at McGill he was invited to be a part of the National Team in British Columbia, which is what he does now — row for Canada.
Last week he set a new Canadian record: Been cranked out a 5:38.2 to break the Canadian Men’s 2k erg record.
The Men’s National Team member shaved more than a second off the previous mark held by three time Olympian and Olympic Silver Medalist, Conlin McCabe (5:39.4).
Big watts. Big lungs. Big moment.
