
Carson City Fire Department responded Thursday morning to a small brush fire at a residence in the 4800 block of Conti Drive in which the homeowner had extinguished by the time firefighters arrived.
CCFD Chief Sean Slamon said the spot fire was around 10 foot by 10 foot in size, which was extinguished by the homeowner. One Carson City Fire Department unit remained on scene to clean up any hot spots. There was no damage to property.

Carson City Fire Department’s Deputy Emergency Manager, Jason Danen, will speak about emergency notification systems such as Code Red. Skyland Fire Adapted Communities’ leader and Douglas County CERT member, Ann Grant, will discuss items to prep for an evacuation-go bag and a stay box.
