Muscle Powered is hosting a bicycle count on Bike to Work Day, May 16. We are looking to set-up bicycle count stations across Carson City to see how many cyclists and even pedestrians and other non-motorized users hit the streets.
As an advocacy organization, we work closely with the City to help improve our bicycle and pedestrian friendly infrastructure. While we know our work continues on, we are looking to start gathering data on how our community uses our infrastructure to get around town.

We are looking for volunteers to help us count! Volunteers can sign up at four different locations.

Time: 6:30 AM-9:30 AM
Muscle Powered will provide tables and bike count forms along with cups for serving coffee to individuals commuting to work.
Volunteers will need to wear layers, bring water, snacks and sunscreen. We will have pop ups at a couple of locations (pending wind) and tables with our banner or table clothes. We will drop off all necessary materials in the morning and pick up the items once the count is completed. Volunteers just need to sign-up!

Interested in pedaling by and being part of the count? We are hoping to have a serving of coffee for folks commuting to work, stop on by the above locations for a cup of joe.
May Bike Month Party:
May Bike Party and Bingo Raffle will be on Friday, May 16th, 2025 from 5:30 PM-7:30 PM at the White House (402 E Telegraph St, Carson City).
Bike4Alz is a non-profit is hosting a cross country cycling tour to bring awareness about Alzheimer’. A group from Western Kentucky University has invited us to participate in a community outreach event in Truckee, CA as part of the Memorial Day celebrations.

Muscle Powered has also been invited to bike from Carson City, NV to Fallon, NV on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025! This is a road bike ride, around 61 miles along the 50 East corridor. If you are interested in more details, email ckincheloe@musclepowered.org.
This would be a self supported ride and riders will need to coordinate transportation back from Fallon, NV.
