• In Nevada, this year’s report revealed the following:
  • Number of Nevada residents aged 65 and older living with Alzheimer’s: 54,900
  • Statewide deaths from Alzheimer’s disease: 863
  • Number of Nevada residents serving as unpaid family caregivers: 87,000

An accompanying special report highlights findings from a nationwide survey of more than 1,700 US adults aged 45 and older, examining their awareness and attitudes about early detection and diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, tests used to help diagnose Alzheimer’s and treatments that can slow progression of the disease. It finds:

● Nearly 4 in 5 Americans (79%) surveyed would want to know if they had Alzheimer’s disease before having symptoms, or before those symptoms interfered with their activities.
● 91% said they would want to take a simple test — such as a blood biomarker test — if it were available.
● 92% would probably or definitely want to take medication that could slow the progression of the disease following an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, with nearly 3 in 5 (58%) willing to accept a moderate or high level of risk to slow progression of the disease.

Today, the Alzheimer’s Association released its 2025 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report. This report provides an in-depth look at the latest national and state-by-state statistics and information on Alzheimer’s disease prevalence, incidence, mortality, dementia care workforce, costs of care and impact on caregivers. For the first time, there are now more than 7 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s — an estimated 7.2 million.

We have made undeniable progress in recent years, but we have much more to do. We look forward to continuing to work together to achieve our shared vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.
