The Nevada State Museum, Carson City will debut its inaugural Mint Gala on Saturday, May 2, 2026, offering an elegant evening inside the historic Carson City Mint building and throughout the museum.
The one-night event invites guests to step into history with exclusive after-hours access to the museum, featuring demonstrations, curator-led experiences, and immersive activities set within one of Nevada’s most iconic landmarks.

Guests will enter through the original doors of the Carson City Mint and be welcomed with chef-curated hors d’oeuvres, live music by the Moxy Ruckus Band, and access to exhibits throughout the evening. Museum experts will be stationed throughout the building, offering insights and guided experiences as attendees explore the galleries.
A highlight of the evening will include a working demonstration of Coin Press No. 1, which will strike the first of the museum’s 85th anniversary commemorative medallions. Minted in copper specifically for the occasion, vouchers for these limited-edition medallions will be available for pre-sale with ticket purchase.
Additional experiences throughout the evening will include a silent auction and a museum-wide treasure hunt designed to engage guests with the museum’s collection in a unique and interactive way.
The evening will begin with a VIP experience from 6 to 7 p.m., featuring a craft bourbon tasting hosted by Team Whiskey and Comstock Distillery. General admission will follow from 7 to 10 p.m.

“The Mint Gala offers a rare opportunity to experience the Carson City Mint in a completely new way,” said Jen Roger (roh-JAY), Director of Nevada State Museum, Carson City. “By opening the museum after hours and bringing these demonstrations and experiences to life, we’re inviting guests to connect with Nevada’s history in a more immersive and memorable setting.”
Attire for the evening is formal, with guests encouraged to embrace the historic setting through period-inspired fashion or masquerade masks.
