The Carson City School District will host its quarterly Community Connects event Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Carson High School in the library. The meeting will be a Conversation: What Do We Want Schools To Do For Carson City Kids?

Next year, the Carson City School District will begin embarking on work to create a new strategic plan. This meeting is a soft entry into that work. The conversation will center around the idea of “benefits.” What benefits should Carson City kids take from their school experience? What knowledge, experiences and opportunities do parents and educators want for them? This will be a deep group discussion around this topic.

The family event is open to all elementary, middle school and high school students and families. There is no cost for the event. Additionally, enjoy a free dinner and desserts (first come, first served) from 5:30-6:00 p.m. The informative discussion will be from 6:00-7:30 p.m. The district looks forward to a productive evening collaborating with parents and families in support of every child’s success.

The purpose of these quarterly Community Connections meetings with school officials is to help families better support their children’s academic development by providing information, resources and hands-on strategies connected to their education. Additionally, the district gathers feedback from community members on how the school district’s strategic plan is performing and suggest ideas and systems to better help meet the goals, objectives and strategies of that plan.

Individuals planning to attend are welcome to share this invitation with colleagues, friends and neighbors who might be interested in joining the discussion. Community members and families may park along the curb in front of Carson High School and enter the building at the main entrance near the flagpole or park in the north parking lot and enter through the north foyer.
