By Dave Whitefield — Marking the 6th Dinks & Drinks tournament since the inaugural Carson City event in October 2022, another successful Dinks & Drinks Pickleball Tournament is in the books.
The Spring 2025 Dinks & Drinks tournament took place on April 4 through April 6 at the Robert “Bob” Crowell Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC) in Carson City, Nev. The MAC, located at 1860 Russell Way, is a top-tier indoor venue with 12 hardwood courts, creating an excellent environment for the tournament. This popular event attracted players of all ages and skill levels for one evening and two days of competitive play and community fun.








Tournament Highlights
The tournament featured a Coed Singles event on Friday evening, Women’s and Men’s Doubles on Saturday, and Mixed Doubles on Sunday. Two hundred forty-two players entered the tournament, representing Nevada, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon, and British Columbia, Canada. Gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded in 20 separate events, organized by skill level and age.

Community Impact and Fundraising
The Dinks & Drinks tournament is committed to supporting local pickleball initiatives, with proceeds from the event benefit the Mills Park Pickleball Court Project. This project supports expanding and enhancing pickleball facilities in Carson City, promoting the growth of the sport in the community.
The tournament was sponsored by the Carson City Parks and Recreation Department and the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation, with the MAC facility generously donated for the event.

Organizers are already planning for future events, aiming to continue fostering a vibrant pickleball community in Carson City. The tournament’s combination of competitive play, community engagement, and support for local initiatives makes it a standout event in the region’s sports calendar.
