Meet our Pet of the Week: Boone!

Boone will make you swoon; he’s playful, happy and a bit of a ladies’ man, which is why he’s a staff pick at the Carson City Shelter.

Boone has just turned 8 years old and was brought to the shelter as a stray. He has a mild heart murmur and is not showing any overt signs of heart disease. This is great because Boone is so active and doesn’t let his age or health stop him from having fun playing fetch in the yard.

Here’s what Boone has to (bark) or say about himself: “In need of a personal trainer before the summer? I might not be qualified to teach you fitness, being a dog and all, but I would make a paw-some workout partner. Everyone admires my long legs, but they need a place to go. If you have a fenced in yard, that would be a huge bonus for me when it comes to play time. Consider me for your new best friend?”

Our staff is not 100 percent sure that he’s been around cats, so slow and gradual introductions to any other four-legged furry friends is a must. If you’d like to adopt Boone, he is free at our Carson Shelter. Come and visit today!

You can meet Boone by visiting the Carson City branch of the Nevada Humane Society located at 549 Airport Road in Carson City, or by calling (775) 887-2171 to find out more.
