On April 3, 2025, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a school located in Dayton for a report of child abuse.
Upon arrival, a student was located that had shown up to school with severe blunt force injuries all over their body.
The victim had been severely beaten and medical attention was immediately summoned to the school. The victim was assessed by Lyon County Paramedics and subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment.
Throughout the course of the investigation, deputies discovered the victim had been beaten the previous evening by a family member.
Deputies located and arrested a family member of the child, identified as 40-year-old, SAUL GALLEGOS-DURON.
The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services arrived to assist and the children in the home were placed in a safe location.
GALLEGOS-DURON’s total bail is: $75,000
