Meet Sofie, a beautiful and devoted companion with the grace of a queen and the heart of a soulmate. Sofie’s story is touched with both deep love and quiet sorrow. She spent her life with her bonded owner Scott, until a tragic accident took him from her. Loyal Sofie was found curled up beside his body. Since then, she’s carried a quiet grief, but, over time, she’s begun to blossom again.

At Catmandu Sofie is cautiously opening her heart to the world. She’s gentle, affectionate, and loves to be brushed. In fact, she takes her grooming very seriously. Stop brushing too soon and she’ll flop over and make it clear that her luxurious coat still needs attention. A true feline fashionista!

Sofie has been through a lot, but she’s finding her spark again – rolling over for attention; asking humans for head, chin, ear and back scratches; and showing more curiosity about the world around her. Sofie doesn’t always demand attention, but she deeply appreciates it. She’s the kind of cat who’ll quietly appear beside you when you need comfort, her presence steady and soft.

Very healthy at 12 years old, this long-haired lass is looking for a second chance in a loving home. While she is up for adoption, she also qualifies for our Senior 2 Senior program. This program places senior citizens (55+) with senior cats in a long-term foster situation.

The cat(s) remains with their senior for the rest of their life; however, if something should happen to the person, the cat(s) returns to Catmandu. We also help with medical care through nutrition, homeopathy and vet care through All Creatures Mobile Vet Hospital. It’s a win for both the senior and the cat(s).

Sofie would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can bond with her people. Once you earn her trust, you’ll discover a loyal companion who appreciates the slow, steady rhythm of shared quiet moments. If you’re someone who believes that love —like grooming — should never be rushed, Sofie might just be your perfect match. Come meet Sofie this weekend at Catmandu. We are open Friday – Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm at 1829 Brown Street.
