Meet Kinko, a handsome 3-year-old Australian cattle dog (red heeler) mix with a playful spirit and a big heart. Kinko’s had quite the adventure so far.
He first arrived at our Reno campus during the Pasadena fires, where he gave up his previous spot in Los Angeles Animal Services to make way for pets in need.
Now, he’s enjoying some peaceful downtime at our Carson City campus, soaking up fresh starts and still holding out hope for his forever family.
Whether it’s walking by your side on a breezy hike or leaning in for ear scratches while you’re relaxing at home, Kinko knows how to make every moment joyful. If you’re looking for an adventure buddy with a ton of love to give, Kinko would love to meet you.

“Hey there, future best friend! My name’s Kinko, and I’m a professional Good Boy looking for a forever family. I’m super friendly, love every person I meet, and I’m always up for an outdoor stroll if you are. Just give me a leash and I’ll show you my amazing walking skills (I’ve been told I’m a gentleman on walks). I also really enjoy car rides with the windows cracked open so I can take in all the sights and smells.
Here’s the deal — I’m all about connecting with my humans. Whether we’re exploring a park, chilling at home, or having a snack together, I’m happiest just being by your side. I’ve even mastered my best ‘sit patiently’ look when you’re cooking lunch, just in case you feel like sharing a treat or two.
I’ve got to be honest, though — I tend to be a little picky with my canine friends. But with some support, patience and a dog-to-dog visit before we go home together, I’m sure I we’d get along great. I’m loyal, loving, and ready to give you my full heart! If you’ve got time for some love and support to help me shine even brighter, I think we could be an amazing team.
