Even though injury caused him to stop, Adam Houghton of Carson City went the distance, doing something most could never pull off or pull up let alone try for a world record.

On Saturday at The Health Lab in Carson City, Houghton set out to break a Guinness World Record of doing the most pull-ups in 24 hours. The record stands at 7,715 completed in October 2019 and is held by Brandon Tucker of Columbus, Georgia. See Guinness entry here.

For Adam, he made it to 1,686 pull-ups Saturday before having to stop due to painful blisters and abrasions to his hands. And he was wearing gloves, and, had his hands wrapped underneath! (Scroll and click on photos to enlarge.)

Houghton is founder and CEO of DYSBX, LLC. DYSBX is an acronym for Dip Your Snack Box, based in Carson City.

DYSBX is available in select locations in Carson City, including the Nevada Nosh food truck. As an aside, DYSBX is currently giving away a trip to Anaheim to visit Anaheim Wonder Park. Find out more here. The contest ends April 30, 2022.

Congratulations Adam and job well done!
