A 33-year-old man was arrested Friday for felony warrants alleging sexual assault with a child under 14 and child abuse or neglect first offense, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Carson Now has withheld the name of the suspect to protect the victim’s identity. At approximately 11:32 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of South Roop Street for a warrant service. Dispatch advised the suspect had two felony warrants issued out of Carson City. Deputies were unable to contact the man.
CCSO was advised of where the man worked, in which the deputy went to his work and placed him under arrest. The suspect said he would like to talk to his attorney. The deputy advised they had no questions for him and that he could call them from jail. Bail: $200,000.
In other arrests:
— A 23-year-old Carson City woman, Monica Salas, was arrested Friday for suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and parole and probation violation. According to the booking report, at 8:55 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the area of Sherman Lane and Airport Road for a possible assault with a deadly weapon that had occurred.
Deputies met with the victim and the reporting party. A man stated he was outside his residence, which faces westbound on Airport Road, when he observed a gold GMC vehicle drive past a white pickup while crossing over the double yellow line at a high rate of speed northbound on Airport Road. The person further explained the driver of the GMC, later identified as Salas, then stopped due to roadwork and started yelling at construction workers. The man explained that his daughter came outside to start filming the incident with her cell phone when Salas, driving the gold GMC, attempted to strike her with her vehicle, the report states.
Deputies interviewed the victim who stated she heard the female suspect yelling and that’s when she exited the residence and came outside and began recording the event with her cellphone. She provided the deputy the recording on her cellphone, which showed the suspect screaming at the road workers.
The video showed the suspect switching her attention to the victim and began yelling profanities at her. The suspect then gets into the gold GMC, turns around to head southbound, and intentionally drives the car toward the victim at a high rate of speed. The victim was on the sidewalk and not in the roadway. The deputy then observed the gold GMC stop before it made contact with the victim, and then the vehicle sped off southbound on Airport Road, according to the report.
At around 9:50 a.m. the deputy located the vehicle in the 3200 block of Woodside Drive. The vehicle was unoccupied. While looking around the area, the deputy made contact with a neighbor who confirmed where the female lived. The deputy attempted contact at the residence however no one answered the door.
The vehicle was later located in the 2000 block of North Carson Street. A deputy entered a business and observed the female matching the description of the female in the video. The woman identified herself and was arrested, the report states.
She was read her Miranda warning, where she stated she understood and wished to speak. She stated she was in the area of Airport Road at around 9 a.m. and stated she was upset with the white pickup because it kept “brake-checking” her and it would be her fault if she got into an accident. The driver had denied ever trying to strike the suspect’s vehicle.
Due to the video evidence, the suspect was placed under arrest for alleged assault with a deadly weapon. Dispatch advised the suspect is on Parole and Probation for battery causing substantial bodily harm and P&P wished to place a hold on her for violations. Bail: $15,000, plus no bail hold for P&P violation.
— A 37-year-old man was arrested early Monday morning in the area of Nye and Century streets for misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence from the Department of Alternative Sentencing. The man was in possession of a marijuana pipe and marijuana in a bowl, a violation of DAS conditions. Bail: $1,000 cash.
— A 24-year-old woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of domestic battery, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report. Deputies were dispatched at 2:16 p.m. to the 5100 block of South Carson Street for a possible domestic battery.
Dispatch advised the subjects involved were seen on traffic cameras in the dirt road area south of Cochise Drive. A deputy arrived on scene and a female, later identified as the suspect, was seen getting out of the passenger side of the vehicle.
A deputy spoke with both subjects and got their versions of the story. Following an investigation, the woman was booked for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing, resisting arrest. Bail: $3,000.
— A 41-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of driving with a revoked Nevada driver’s license. Bail: $640.
— A 49-year-old Washoe Valley man, Corey Steffner, was arrested Sunday at Challenger Way and College Parkway for a felony outside agency warrant issued out of Washoe County. He was also booked for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $5,000.
— A 43-year-old Dayton man was arrested Friday for two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued March 25 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.
— A 69-year-old Carson City man, Samuel Oliver Samaniego, was arrested Friday for a felony fugitive from justice warrant issued out of Merced, Calif., a misdemeanor warrant out of Carson City for violation of a suspended sentence and misdemeanor obstructing. Bail: No bail hold for the felony warrant.
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $2,500.
— A 26-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, at 12:21 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a traffic stop where a Carson City sheriff’s sergeant stopped a vehicle in which the driver appeared intoxicated. The driver had failed to stop at a stop sign in the area of Woodside Drive and Monte Rosa Drive. The sergeant pulled them over.
A deputy then spoke with the suspect driver, and asked if they were willing to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. The woman had a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person and had thick and slow speech and red, watery eyes. She had trouble balancing and standing normally.
The woman stated she had two drinks that morning. She showed signs of impairment on the tests and was arrested. She had agreed to evidentiary breath tests but was unable to complete a sufficient sample due to an error from the PBT device. The error message given typically indicates a problem with the device or, more often, extremely high blood alcohol level, the report states.
She was asked to consent to an evidentiary blood draw. She then revoked her consent and stated she was not willing to consent to a blood draw. The deputy spoke with the on-call District Attorney and Justice of the Peace and presented their findings. The judge granted a seizure warrant for the woman’s blood. She was taken to the hospital because the deputy suspect her blood alcohol level was elevated. Bail: $1,137.
— A 21-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday in the 3300 block of Butti Way for suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched regarding a woman running through the parking lot without her pants. Dispatch advised they had received two calls of the woman running naked through the parking lot.
Deputies arrived and located the woman in the parking lot wearing a black sweater and no pants, exposing her lower private parts. She was uneasy on her feet, slurring her speech and deputies could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from her person.
Deputies asked why she was running naked. She replied that she had been drinking alcohol, later stating she had been drinking vodka. She was detained and placed in a patrol vehicle.
Deputies made contact with the reporting party, who said the woman was chasing after her juvenile children in the parking lot without her pants on. The mother of the juveniles stated they did not want to press charges for indecent exposure but wanted to make sure the woman was OK, the report states.
Deputies asked the suspect if she would consent to a preliminary breath test. She agreed and provided a result of .231. A sergeant arrived on scene and asked if she had used any drugs. She stated she used cocaine and acid, the report states. She was advised she was under arrest for disorderly conduct for being intoxicated in public, running naked outside her apartment and for chasing juveniles. Bail: $637.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 68-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday in the 3200 block of Market Street for suspicion of trespassing. Bail: $637.
— A 44-year-old Reno man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). Bail: $2,500.
— A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday in the 500 block of East William Street for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Dec. 18, 2025 out of East Fork Justice Court. Bail: $1,078 cash.
— A 32-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for suspicion of misuse of 911, a gross misdemeanor offense. Including Saturday, the woman had made multiple calls to 911 dispatch in February, March and April in which dispatch was called, there was a deputy response with no actions taken. The report notes that in the multiple prior calls, deputies have made notes that the woman was informed of the misuse of 911 and what actions would be taken if she continued to misuse 911. Bail: $2,500.
— A 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing conditions and driving with a suspended driver’s license. Conditions with DAS included obeying all laws, maintaining a valid driver’s license and not being in possession of any weapons. During a consent to search, deputies located multiple knives within the vehicle he had been driving. Bail: $3,000.
— Two people were arrested Saturday in the area of South Carson and Koontz for misdemeanor outside agency warrants. A 42-year-old woman was arrested for a warrant issued out of Churchill County and the 36-year-old man was arrested for an outside agency warrant out of Lyon County.
