UPDATE 8:08 PM: Carson City firefighters at the scene of a brush fire off of Old Clear Creek and Tahoe Golf Club Drive report they have a line around the fire, which was reportedly from a burn pile in the area that began to spread. It is unknown if the pile burn was from controlled fire operations by the U.S. Forest Service. The size of the fire was reported to be about a quarter acre.

Firefighters report to have extinguished flames that had burned outside the burn pile area.

A report of a brush fire tonight in the area of Old Clear Creek and Tahoe Golf Club Drive up Spooner Summit on Highway 50 west of Carson City. The call came in around 7:20 p.m.

Initial reports are that flames were showing in the trees, according to dispatch. Carson City fire crews were responding. About a quarter of an acre was reported to be burning.
