Congratulations to the many wonderful cats at Catmandu that found homes in the last few weeks: Danny, Scooter, Koko, Kookie, Sassafras, Myra, Miss Mable, Luvie, Mona, Dasher, Tiger, Boxer, Willie, Precious, Loki, Ferris, Tik-Tak and Finn! Enjoy your forever homes. However, there are some very special cats still waiting. Thelma and Louise are one such pair.

Please take a second look at these beautiful sisters. Now, more than ever, this duo is ready for their forever home. At just 7 months old, Thelma and Louise are beautiful brown short-hair tabby twins with big eyes, gentle adorable faces and sweet spirits—but don’t let those gentle faces fool you. These days, they are also full of energy, curiosity, and just a touch of sass.
Deeply bonded, these sisters must stay together. They are each other’s comfort, courage, and constant companion. Thelma is the more vocal and outgoing of the two, always ready to share her thoughts, while Louise tends to take a moment to be sure everything (and everyone) is safe—though once she decides you’re hers, she’s the cuddlier of the pair. Both girls are incredibly sweet, affectionate, and devoted to their people.
Their story began with a very humble start. Thelma and Louise were discovered as tiny orphaned babies, eyes barely open, and lovingly cared for by a very senior woman with limited mobility. To keep them safe and close, they spent their entire kittenhood confined together in a small 3×3 wire kennel. As a result, the world outside those bars was big, unfamiliar, and a little scary.
But oh, how things have changed. In the past month, these girls have truly blossomed. As they’ve been given more space and encouragement, they’ve discovered the pure joy of being cats. They run, they leap, they chase toys with gusto—and they play like kittens making up for lost time. Watching them embrace their newfound freedom has been nothing short of heartwarming. With this new confidence has come a bit of personality, too. Thelma and Louise have decided they quite like being in charge, and have become a little bossy with other cats. Because of this, they would do best as the only pets in the home, where they can reign as the beloved queens they were clearly meant to be.
They would thrive in a home with children school-age and up—kids who can match their playful energy and help keep the games going. After all, these girls have a lot of living (and playing) to catch up on. Thelma and Louise are spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped—ready to begin the next chapter of their story. What they need now is a loving indoor home where they can feel safe, continue to grow in confidence, and share their joyful, spirited hearts.
If you believe in second chances, a little mischief, and a lot of love, Thelma and Louise are ready to steal your heart—and probably your favorite chair, too. Please reach out if you’d like to learn more or meet these unforgettable sisters. You can meet them this weekend at Catmandu. We are open Friday -Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1829 Brown Street. Come early if you wish to adopt.
