A 40-year-old man was arrest Monday for suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation following an investigation, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Daniel Jesus Verduzco was taken into custody. According to the booking report, deputies were called to a David Street residence at 11:20 p.m. for a report of a domestic battery. The reporting party advised the suspect, Verduzco, beat her up.
Deputies arrived and met with the victim and suspect. Deputies learned the man had became aggressive during an argument and pushed the victim onto a bed, then placed both hands around her neck, applying pressure, the report states.
The victim said she kicked until he suspect got off of her. She screamed for help but the victim said the man covered her mouth with his hands so she could not be heard. She was able to get the man off of her, where she went into the restroom and texted for help, saying she needed help but could not make a phone call. She stayed in the bathroom until law enforcement arrived.
A deputy observed redness on the woman’s neck, consistent with strangulation and observed a red scratch on the left side of her neck, consistent with a scratch caused by a fingernail. The deputy also observed redness on both of the victim’s cheeks and nose, injuries consistent with her statement, the report states.
A deputy then spoke to the man, who said the two began to argument, saying it didn’t get physical. The deputy asked the man how the injuries got on the back of her neck. The man said he didn’t know. The officer told the man the injuries appeared to be fresh. He said he did not know. The deputy did not observe injuries on the man. He was arrested for suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation. Bail: $40,000.

— A 33-year-old Carson City woman, Llecenia Pacheco, turned herself in Monday for a felony warrant alleging child abuse. The warrant was issued March 12, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.
— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday for suspicion of gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous weapon, brass knuckles. Bail: $2,137.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the booking report, deputies were called at 10:34 p.m. to a domestic battery on South Pratt.
Deputies arrived and located the suspect, who was walking away from the apartment. The suspect was visibly upset with blood on his shirt and a tear on the chest area of the shirt. The deputy asked why he was walking away from the apartment. The man stared at the deputy without answering. The deputy asked why CCSO was called to the apartment. The man said he was arguing with the reporting party. The deputy asked what they were arguing about. The man said he couldn’t tell the deputy. The deputy then asked the man if he can’t tell or won’t tell. The man continued to stare.
The officer asked him why he was arguing with the reporting party. He said he did not remember. The suspect explained that he was out drinking with his friends and came home and started to argue. The deputy again asked what they were arguing about. He said he did not remember.
The victim and her mother provided statements saying the man came home drunk and wanted to leave in the car with a child. The victim took the car keys and tried to take the child from the man. He left the apartment and walked around outside the building with the child before returning.
The victim had visible marks on her arm. The man was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor warrant issued out of East Fork Justice Court. Bail: $940 cash.
