By Dennis Baughman — With golf season rapidly approaching full swing, the Senior Men’s Club of Carson City is accepting applications for those 50 and over who desire a welcoming environment to play competitively with friends, co-workers, and even family members.
The season runs every Tuesday from April 1 to Oct. 28 on the Eagle Valley Golf Club west course (seven weeks will be played on the east course) in Carson City and will feature flighted weekly games based on handicap and optional gross and net skins games.
Information about the senior men’s club and the season schedule, application, formats (all shotgun starts and mainly individual stroke play), rules and policies can be viewed on the club’s website at 2025smcc.golfgenius.com or by calling club president Wes Camp at 775-230-2441. Golfers may also stop by the Eagle Valley golf shop to pick up an application.
The club dues are an economical $50 for the year, and members will receive reduced green fees, range balls every Sunday, two lunches, annual banquet and awards, prizes, and access to the web portal to view events and scores each week.
The season will include the President’s Cup (best score on each hole over two weeks) and the Club Championship over two weeks. The club also will travel two Tuesdays to Silver Oak Golf Course and Toiyabe Golf Club.
