Schoolchildren from Bordewich Bray Elementary School in Carson City were joined this morning by Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval for Nevada Moves Day.
Along for the walk to school were Carson City School District Superintendent Richard Stokes, Principal Karen Simms and parents.
The statewide event began in 2010 under the direction of the Nevada Department of Transportation and State of Nevada Safe Routes to School Coordinators. The day celebrates and promotes the fun and benefits of walking and bicycling to school.
