By Denise Clodjeaux — Members of the Rotary Club of Carson City will learn about the mental health status of our area’s young people at the club’s next meeting.

Kitty McKay, Vice President of Community and Patient Experience at Carson Tahoe Health, will shed light on the current state of our local kid’s well-being. The public is invited to attend the meeting, which takes place Tuesday, March 11, at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom, 449 West King Street in Carson City.

“Like no time in our shared history, people throughout the nation, and especially in Northern Nevada, are experiencing a mental health crisis,” she says. “While this is affecting adults, the impact on our kids has become acute.”

Because of that Carson Tahoe Health is rolling out a campaign to help local kids.

“Our community is in need of bold, collaborative and comprehensive action. Carson Tahoe Health is rolling out a robust path forward, called the Healing our Kids Crusade, with the goal of shifting the dire trajectory of juvenile mental health issues.”

In her role at Carson Tahoe Health, McKay oversees community engagement, fundraising, communications, central services, population health, patient experience, and a team of 120 volunteers.
