More snow is forecast for Western Nevada, including the greater Carson City area, with accumulations between two and four inches in the valleys and as much as six inches of localized accumulation, the National Weather Service in Reno reports.
The advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Friday evening through 10 a.m. Saturday morning, the NWS reports.
Motorists should plan on difficult travel conditions overnight into Saturday morning, and be prepared for reduced visibility at times.
Even light snowfall causes major travel delays, especially during periods of high traffic volume.
Be sure to allow extra time to reach your destination. Leave extra space between vehicles since it takes longer to stop on slick roadways.
The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5-1-1 or by visiting the Nevada Department of Transportation’s travel web site at www.nvroads.com.
