Students at Eagle Valley Middle School are inviting the Carson City community to come together in support of youth-led sustainability projects at an Earth Day Trivia Night Fundraiser on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 6:00–9:00 p.m. at the Nashville Social Club.
The event is hosted by Green Biz Kidz, a student-led club focused on environmental stewardship, hands-on learning, and social entrepreneurship. Club members meet regularly to learn about local ecosystems, climate, and community needs, and then turn that knowledge into action.
Over the past year, Green Biz Kidz students have:
- Helped care for the school hoop house, growing vegetables and native plants
- Participated in reforestation efforts by planting seedlings on the Davis Burn Scar
- Visited local natural areas, such as Spooner Lake, to learn about Nevada’s ecosystems and natural resources
- Designed and sold handmade crafts at local events to raise money for their projects
- Worked on waste-reduction and sustainability practices at school, including composting and recycling efforts
These experiences give students the chance to see that their ideas and efforts can improve their school and their community. The club also helps them build confidence, leadership skills, and a deeper connection to the environment they live in.
The Earth Day Trivia Night is designed to keep these projects going and growing. Funds raised will support:
- Continued care and expansion of the hoop house and school garden
- Future field trips and outdoor learning experiences
- Summer and after-school programming focused on sustainability
- Supplies for student-led projects and crafts
The fundraiser will feature team trivia with an Earth Day theme, prizes, and a special second-place prize of dinner for four at the Nashville Social Club’s piano table. Guests can also enjoy raffles, student-made crafts for sale, and a family-friendly photo booth.
Tables are $200 per table of four, $300 for a table of six, and $20 for spectators. Community members are encouraged to form teams with family, friends, coworkers, or neighbors. All ages are welcome, and students will be helping to host the evening, share some of their projects, and participate in the trivia.
Green Biz Kidz relies on community support to stay afloat and to grow. Ticket purchases, raffle donations, and help spreading the word all make a direct difference in what these students are able to do. Each contribution helps provide more opportunities for local youth to learn, lead, and care for the place they call home.
Community members, local businesses, and organizations can support by:
- Attending the trivia night and registering a team
- Donating items or gift certificates for raffle prizes
- Sharing the event through newsletters, social media, or word of mouth
Tickets can be purchased online at HERE. For more information about the event or ways to support Green Biz Kidz, contact ariddle@carson.k12.nv.us.
By showing up on April 17, the Carson City community can help ensure that these young environmental leaders have the resources they need to keep learning, creating, and caring for their world—this Earth Day and beyond.
