Students and families at Carson Montessori Charter School recently came together to celebrate their annual Week of Kindness with a series of dress-up days, service activities, and a schoolwide Care Kit Drive to support community members in need.
Throughout the week, when school was in session, students participated in themed dress-up days that highlighted positive character traits and the importance of compassion. Classrooms also engaged in activities and discussions centered on empathy, generosity, and service.
As part of the celebration, families were invited to donate essential hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. These donations were assembled into Care Kits that will be distributed to local individuals and families through Friends in Service Helping (FISH).
The service project involved the entire school community, with sixth graders taking the lead in organizing and assembling the kits. Their leadership helped ensure that each donation was sorted, packaged, and prepared for delivery, which will take place this week.
Through initiatives like the Week of Kindness, Carson Montessori encourages students to understand that helping others and practicing kindness strengthens and supports the entire community.
