On February 19, 2026, at 6:15 PM, Investigators from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office served a search and arrest warrant, related to a joint investigation with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, in the 100-block of Tiger Drive.
The warrant was the result of a months-long investigation regarding child sexual abuse material.
The suspect, Charles J. Hart Jr. (DOB: 06/28/1999), was arrested and charged with Possession of Visual Pornography of a Person Under 18 Years Old, a felony. Hart was transported to the Carson City Detention Center, where he is being held on $1,000,000 bail.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is a part of the region’s fight against child exploitation with its membership in the Northern Nevada Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
These cybercrimes are investigated closely with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, the Sparks Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
