Mayor Bob Crowell cuts the ribbon for grand re-opening of Bob Boldrick Theater.

Carson City celebrated the grand re-opening of the newly remodeled Bob Boldrick Theatre in style with a black tie gala Tuesday night.

The event was hosted by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce and featured drinks and food from local restaurants served in the front lobby, with The Silver Strings quartet providing the entertainment.

The Chamber raised $20,000 to help with the project, including new curtains for the stage and chandeliers for the lobby area.

After Mayor Bob Crowell cut the ribbon, guests were treated to a medley of musical performances by the Western Nevada Musical Theater Company, reprising a few of the many shows they have put on in this theater.

Meanwhile, festivities continue Wednesday night at the theater with a free community open house. The Greatest Showcase Variety Show begins at 7 p.m.

In honor of the re-opening of the renovated Bob Boldrick Theatre, there will be a night of variety acts. Celebrate with performances by: Western Nevada Performing Arts Center; Youth Theatre Carson City; Suspect Terrane; Wildhorse Children’s Theatre; Studio E Arial Arts and Carson High School Choir and Drama.

This is a free event. The Bob Boldrick Theatre is located inside of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William Street at the corner of N. Roop.
