Don Chepe, the Salvadoran and Mexican restaurant in the Carson Mall, has closed its doors, effective immediately.

The eatery opened in the mall May 2024, and the closure was sudden. The owner’s daughter-in-law confirmed that the restaurant’s rent had been raised, but did not immediately have information about how much the rent had been raised to.

The restaurant space is already up for lease online, which lists the term as “negotiable” and the states rent prices will be provided upon request.

At this time, it’s not known if the owners plan to reopen at another location. We will update with more information if we learn more.
