A 48-year-old man was arrested Feb. 6 for suspicion of felony vehicle burglary, misdemeanor disorderly conduct and affray, (using/threatening unlawful violence in a public or sometimes private place causing fear for public safety) according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Following an investigation, deputies arrested Jonathan Vazquez, listed from Las Vegas. According to the booking report, deputies were called to Hospitality Way for a report of indecent exposure. Dispatch advised the reporting party described a man seen wearing a black jacket exposing himself outside the fitness area.
Deputies arrived and spoke with the reporting party who said the man was making obscene gestures towards her, her children and her husband as they walked to the weight room of the hotel. The RP stated the man kept trying to fight with her husband. Both said they wanted to press charges for disorderly conduct.
Deputies spoke with the suspect and asked what happened. The man had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person and was swaying back and forth. He had thick, slurred speech. He said he had a few drinks and was trying to get an Uber ride to his hotel. The deputy asked which hotel he was staying at but the man couldn’t tell the deputy. He said he could not tell the deputy what had occurred in the hotel fitness area and denied ever exposing himself or making any gestures. At this time the deputy speaking with the suspect was advised the couple wished to press charges.
Deputies spoke with a hotel employee who said the suspect was a guest at the hotel and had made obscene gestures at a female guest and the three children. They said that the man attempted and was unsuccessful when he tried to break down the door to gain access to the fitness center where the couple were with their children, the report states.
The employee said the man then entered their car. The employee told the man to get out of their car. The man said no and then grabbed the employee’s right arm and pulled her back into the car. She said she was able to leave the car and went back to the hotel lobby, locking the front door to prevent the man from coming back inside because she was scared, the report states.
The employee told deputies she had surveillance footage but did not have access to it and that the general manger would return to the office the following morning. The deputy left their business card and email address and asked her to have him email the surveillance footage, the report states.
Deputies asked the suspect if he would be willing to submit to a preliminary breath test. The man consented and had a BRAC of .229. He was placed under arrest for suspicion of felony vehicle burglary, disorderly conduct and affray. Bail: $2,500.
In other arrests:
— A 48-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Feb. 6 for suspicion of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. According to the booking report, deputies were called at 10:53 p.m. for a report of a hit and run at Upland Court and Prospect Drive.
According to dispatch a vehicle attempted to pass the reporting party’s vehicle, crossing over the double yellow line at a high rate of speed, subsequently making contact with the reporting party’s vehicle and not stopping.
Deputies arrived and met with the reporting party who advised he and his girlfriend were on their way to the WNC observatory when the suspect vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted to pass them by crossing over a double yellow line, striking the front side of their vehicle.
The deputy observed minor damage to the front driver side of the vehicle. The RP further advised he followed the suspect vehicle westbound on Timberline flashing his beams, attempting to get the vehicle to stop. The suspect driver stopped at some point and a female driver yelled out the window, taking off again.
The victim vehicle driver advised he thought the driver of the suspect vehicle was intoxicated based on the suspect’s driving pattern. The deputy notes the victim driver advised he is a deputy sheriff with Eureka County.
The suspect vehicle was seen by a deputy turning the corner on Prospect Drive. A short time later a deputy advised the vehicle arrived on a street, which was the address linked to the registration.
A short time later deputies met with the driver, who is also the registered owner. Deputies could smell an odor of alcohol coming from her person and her speech was slurred and she had red, watery eyes, the report states.
Deputies located blue paint transfer on the rear passenger side tire of the suspect’s vehicle, which was consistent with the color and damage to the victim vehicle, the report states.
Deputies asked the suspect if she was willing to submit to standardized field sobriety testing. She was apprehensive but ultimately decided to submit to SFST’s.
The woman showed signs of impairment on the tests. She was asked if she would provide a preliminary breath test. The woman advised no. She was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and leaving the scene of the accident. She was read the request for voluntary evidence. The woman advised she would provide breath testing. She provided samples of .177 and .170. Bail: $1,137.
— A 33-year-old Reno man was booked Feb. 6 for suspicion of misdemeanor petit larceny. The man was seen putting female clothing in a backpack at a store in the 1300 block of South Carson Street. Security camera footage was submitted as evidence. Deputies canvassed the area, and located the man an hour later who matched the description. The man verbally gave consent to search a backpack where two pairs of female pants and two pairs of female jackets were in his possession. He also had a tool box and a Waste Management bin.
The man was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak. He said he was gifted the clothes from his friends and has always owned the tools. He was booked for suspicion of petit larceny. Bail: $250.
— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Feb. 6 for suspicion of DUI, driving without a valid license and open container. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched Carson City Justice Court regarding two males who had been in the courtroom intoxicated and were sitting in a vehicle. Dispatch advised the vehicle was reversing and pulling out. The reporting party identified the two men who were kicked out of the courtroom.
Deputies and the undersheriff arrived and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Deputies detained the driver and passenger. While speaking with the passenger, the deputy could smell an odor of alcohol coming from his person. The passenger admitted to drinking.
The deputy made contact with the driver, and could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. The man had slurred speech and had been in control of the vehicle.
The man submitted to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .329. He was arrested. He later agreed to evidentiary breath tests with results of .257 and .237. It was learned the man did not have a valid license and there were open containers in the vehicle. Bail: $1,137.
— A 50-year-old Hemet, Calif., woman was arrested Feb. 7 for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Feb. 8 for suspicion of DUI. According to the booking report, a deputy was conducting patrol in the area of Fairview and South Saliman Road. The deputy observed the vehicle make multiple turn infractions, and failing to yield the right of way when turning right onto Saliman when making a left turn into a parking lot.
The deputy activated their lights and initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, informing him of the infractions. The man advised he did not have his driver’s license with him or his wallet. During the interaction the deputy observed the man to have red, watery eyes and an odor of alcohol coming from his person. The man stated he had a beer 20 minutes prior to driving while watching the Super Bowl.
The officer asked the man to exit the vehicle. The man complied. While speaking with the man the officer observed the odor of alcohol became stronger and that the man had slurred speech. The man said he had a shot and a beer before driving. The deputy asked the man if he was willing to submit to standardized field sobriety tests. The man refused to do the tests.
He was detained and was read his Miranda warning. The man stated he understood the warning and did not wish to answer questions. The deputy asked if he would submit to a preliminary breath test. The man refused. The officer read the request for voluntary evidence, to which he refused, according to the report.
Due to the circumstances, he was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. The deputy contacted the on-call district attorney and judge to request a seizure order for the man’s blood. The warrant was granted. Bail: $1,137.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man, Kyle Lesher, was booked Feb. 8 for a felony warrant alleging burglary of a motor vehicle after turning himself in at the front counter of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. The warrant was issued Jan. 22, 2026 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $2,500.
— A 37-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday for a misdemeanor warrant alleging violation of a suspended sentence. The warrant was issued Feb. 4, 2026 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000 cash.
— A 55-year-old Carson City man was booked Monday on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Jan. 30, 2026 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 35-year-old Carson City man booked Tuesday for a misdemeanor warrant alleging 77 counts violation of a temporary protection order for stalking and harassment. According to the booking report, the man was already in custody on other unrelated matters. The warrant was issued out of Carson City Justice Court. The charge listed on the warrant is Violate Temporary Protection Order Against Stalking or Harassment (Counts 1-77). Bail: $10,000 cash.
— A 26-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday for misdemeanor warrants alleging violation conditions of release and for failure to appear for sentencing. Bail: No bail hold in lieu of hearing.
— A 62-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for misdemeanor violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing pretrial supervision. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 25-year-old Sun Valley man was booked Tuesday for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant issued out of Sparks Municipal Court. Bail: $605.
