When officers arrived, the male victim had a large knot on the back of his head, which had been bleeding. He was cleared by Carson City fire and ambulance. The bat was found on the floor and collected as evidence.
Officers learned where the man was living and went to the 1000 block of North Saliman Road to look for him and the missing dog.
