Carson City is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Debt Management Commission. The Commission provides a cursory review of proposed bonded indebtedness, makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors based upon statutory limits on Ad-Valorem, rates and tax caps, and establishes debt management policies. Meetings are held at least every August and February and may also meet at the call of the Chairman.
There is one (1) opening for a “Public-at-Large” to fill a one-year term, expiring January 2013.
Applicants should be aware that a minimum commitment of up to ten hours a year is expected. All members will serve without compensation. Applicants must be Carson City residents to qualify.
Volunteer applications may be obtained from and returned to the Carson City Executive Offices. Let it be known that all applications submitted to this office will be considered public information.
Applications will be accepted until February 13, 2012. Review and/or interviews of the applicants are tentatively planned for the next scheduled Debt Management Commission meeting on February 21, 2012.
