Members of the Carson City Host Lions Club participated in Lions International Hunger Week of Service, held January 3–11, 2026, by supporting local hunger-relief efforts at the Northern Nevada Dream Center.

As part of the project, the club provided 100 reusable bags, each branded with the Lions logo and the Carson City Host Lions name, along with funds to fill the bags with food. The total donation of $3,000, equal to $30 per bag, will help provide meals to about 50 families in the Reach the Hungry Program sponsored by the Northern Nevada Deam Center.

The service project was organized by Lion Project Chair Cris Angus.  The reusable bags reinforce the Lions’ commitment to sustainability while meeting immediate community needs.

“This project reflects our mission to serve where the need is greatest,” said Lion Cris Angus of the Carson City Host Lions Club. “Hunger affects families in our own community, and we are proud to partner with the Northern Nevada Dream Center to make a meaningful impact.”

The Carson City Host Lions Club is part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization, dedicated to improving health, strengthening communities, and supporting those in need.  The Club has been serving the needs of Carson City since 1932.
