A newer model Jeep crashed into the side of the Sign Pro building at the corner of North Carson and Adams Street in Carson City on Thursday afternoon with the driver fleeing the scene.
Carson City sheriff’s deputies are investigating this incident and another hit and run that happened a few minutes earlier a block over on Park Street across from Little Timbers Academy, a child care facility. The crashes happened shortly before 1 p.m.
When deputies arrived at the scene of the North Carson Street crash at Adams, airbags were deployed in the Jeep and the driver and any passengers were gone and remain at large.
Steve Reynolds, owner of Sign Pro said the building received superficial damage to the outside, with a few bricks knocked around. He said he wasn’t inside the building at the time but a graphic artist was and the impact startled them.
