Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. The annual Silver and Snowflakes Festival of Lights holiday celebration goes virtual on Friday. Santa Claus will arrive virtually at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada and in-person at Battle Born Harley Davidson on Saturday for pictures with families and kids of all ages. Combined with live music and dinner specials at Living the Good Life, the state capital has events lined up for the holidays! Read on for more information.

Join two of your favorite Disney Princesses for an entertaining and fun interactive workshop, through Carson City's Wild Horse Theater, to build literary skills using imagination and creativity. Workshop includes storytelling, singing, interactive movements and, most importantly, having fun.

The results are in. Students laughed at them because they had to dress differently, today, but they laughed at the students, too, because they were all dressed the same.

Heading into Sunday, July 7, 2019 activities lined up around the Carson City region feature a Muscle Powered bike ride, train rides, the final day of the carnival at Mills Park, music, concerts and more. Look for sunny skies and a daytime high in the low to mid 80s. Enjoy your day.

Heading into the Independence Day holiday weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region to keep the next three days jam-packed with excitement.

Good morning Carson City, and happy Saturday! It'll be a bit warmer than yesterday with a high of 86 and a low of 51, and you can expect a bit of a breeze with 13 mph winds.

There's a lot going on today in our beautiful Capital City, with day two of Epic Rides, the Carson City Airport Open House and Wing Cook-off, the farmer's market, a youth expo, and more.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City area to help the next three days breeze by. There's a morning Muscle Powered walk, plus the Nevada State Museum will host 2 behind the scenes tours in natural history and anthropology. Plus, the fourth annual Carson City Off-Road kicks off its three-day event with a Capital 15 Fun Ride and Free Clunker Crit Ride. Heading into the evening, “Newsies” will take stage at the Carson City Community Center and you can sit under the stars and watch “The Little Rascals” at 8 p.m. during movie night at John Mankins Park.

This weekend calls for a celebration, because the first Saturday of March is upon us and that means the Carson City Downtown Business Association Wine Walk come rain, snow, wind or shine. And get this: Today's Wine Walk is the last one before Spring.

Not only is Friday the first day of March in this 2019 calendar year but it is also the end of the work week. And for this we say welcome to a month that brings us the Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, which is this Saturday, NCAA basketball playoffs, St. Patrick's Day celebrations and the first day of spring. Stop the presses! Wild Horse Children’s Theater looking for actors, singers and dancers, ages 8-21, for the Northern Nevada premiere of the Disney film turned Tony-winning Broadway hit, "Newsies."

Auditions will be held on Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2 at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall. Auditions are by appointment only! You must call for an audition slot.

The Community of Carson City, and anyone in the world with access to the internet, now has an opportunity to visit CHS. Carson High School’s new Digital Media class launched their Senators Now webpage Feb. 1.

Carson City native Grant Davis, 20, stars in the musical film, "Something Like Summer," the award-winning new movie that has won raves on the 2017 film festival circuit, including prominent engagements in Sydney, Australia; Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; Los Angeles, San Diego, Philadelphia and Miami.

On February 13, through CHS’ leadership class led by teacher and advisor Ann Britt, we had the privilege of having students from Efterskolen Frydensberg, a Danish boarding school, come to CHS as a part of an annual 10th grade trip to America.

It’s time to shine at "Carson City’s Got Talent," a youth talent competition coming up Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Carson City Community Center.

This week’s senior spotlight is on senior Challen Wright. Challen currently has a 4.43 weighted GPA and has straight A’s in his challenging course load of AP and honors courses.

In addition to being an excellent student, Challen is also heavily involved in theater both at Carson High School and in the community. Challen has been a part of nearly every Carson High School production since his freshman year, including behind the scenes as the stage manager of the most recent play, The House of Bernarda Alba.

Robert Leonard Reid’s “None of the Above!” a satirical comedy revue that lampoons the 2012 presidential election continues today with a 2 p.m. performance by the Wild Horse Theater Company at the Brewery Arts Center.

The Brewery Arts Center and Wild Horse Productions have announced a partnership that will welcome Wild Horse Productions as a resident company at the Brewery Arts Center.

While the BAC is open to other artists and arts organizations, as well as the general public for collaborations and to rent their facilities, a resident status may be offered to organizations who demonstrate sound business practices, financial strength, the ability to fill seats and, above all, artistic prowess. Both organizations will retain their independence and tax exempt, nonprofit status.

Wild Horse Theater, in collaboration with Nevada Casting Group, Inc., will be presenting a workshop, Everything You Wanted to Know about 'The Biz' But We Afraid to Ask on Friday, April 15, 6:30 p.m., at 813 N. Carson St. in Carson City.

This one-hour question and answer session will give adults and children a chance to meet Juli Green, casting director and CEO of Nevada Casting Group, and to ask questions and get more information about the entertainment industry in Northern Nevada.

Wild Horse Theater Company is proud to present the world premiere of Robert Leonard Reid’s “None of the Above!”, a satirical song, dance, and comedy revue that lampoons the 2012 Presidential election. “None of the Above!”  will be presented in the Maizie Harris Jesse Theater at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. “The Bee” is an offbeat kind of musical comedy that turns out to be pretty funny in the Wild Horse Theater’s production, weekends through April 24 at 8 p.m. at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson St.

One of Broadway's most buzzed about hits is now in Carson City. Wild Horse Theater Company presents the Tony Award winning musical comedy, The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee.
