UPDATE 11:04AM: At approximately 9:21 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous report of a dead body in a vacant field at the corner of Silver Sage Drive and Stafford Way in South Carson City. Patrol deputies responded to the area and located the body of an adult male near the center of the field, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong in a news release.

UPDATE 2:23PM: After 8 a.m. Thursday morning, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office was notified of a patient at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center Emergency Room with a gunshot to the hand.

At arrival, deputies were informed by the victim that three unknown persons forced their way into his home at the 1500 block of Stanford Drive and shot him. The unknown assailants fled immediately, and the victim transported himself to the hospital, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong in a news release.

On July 10th, 2020, Anthony Arroyo was reported as a runaway. Anthony left for work on 07/08/10 and did not return home. He has ties to Carson City and Lyon County. Family believes he may be staying with friends. His whereabouts are unknown at this time.

UPDATE 4:17PM: A suspicious bag has been removed and the area is deemed safe, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. All personnel are returning to the sheriff's office. The Courthouse remains closed to the public. One bag contained an assortment of belongings, with an item considered suspicious and taken apart by Tahoe Douglas Bomb Squad, which then declared the area safe. The matter has been turned over to CCSO.

UPDATE 2:35PM: The Carson City Sheriff's Office will be closed Wednesday until further notice. A suspicious package was found in the vicinity just after 1 p.m. East Musser Street and surrounding streets are closed until further notice. Tahoe Douglas Bomb Squad is on scene.
