Nevada Humanities is pleased to announce the awards for Nevada Humanities CARES: Emergency Relief Grants for Nevada Humanities and Cultural Organizations. Forty-six cultural and humanities organizations across Nevada received $368,873 in federal CARES Act grants.

CARSON CITY — The Western Nevada Development District, which assists communities in public and private partnerships, has been awarded $400,000 in CARES Act Recovery assistance to help respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and drive economic development planning going forward.

50 out of 56 businesses in compliance during second Nevada OSHA visit

The Division of Industrial Relations Occupational Safety and Health Administration has begun conducting follow up visits to business establishments that were previously found to be in noncompliance with the face covering requirement, social distancing and other measures to protect the safety and health of Nevada’s workforce.

We are traveling the world this year! During the 5-day art camp students ages 5-10 will “visit” Asia, South America, Europe, Africa, and Australia to experience the art, culture, and music of these continents. Each day of the week will focus on the art and traditions of each of the continents. Each camper will have their “passport” stamped daily and will design a “travel bag” for all of their camp art projects.

Brush fire rages south of Gardnerville threatening homes, evacuations continue, US 395 closed

OSHA: 84 percent face mask compliance in northern Nevada, 66 percent in southern Nevada

Businesses following the Nevada governor's directive requiring face coverings shows 84 percent of businesses in northern Nevada and 66 percent of businesses in southern Nevada were in compliance "on the date of the initial observation," according to a Nevada OSHA news release Monday.

Only 49 percent of businesses complying with mask mandate, Governor warns of 'swift and decisive actions'

Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak issued a statement in regards to reported compliance numbers from the Division of Industrial Relations Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Of the 204 businesses observed by the State on July 2, 49 percent complied with the face covering requirements. Fifty percent of bars and restaurant bar areas visited by officials were found to be in compliance, with the remaining establishments including automobile sales and maintenance, gyms, hair and nail establishments, and tattoo shops demonstrating a 61 percent rate of compliance.
