Greenhouse Project dinner fundraiser, comedy, live music and more: Carson City region readies for upcoming weekend

The Union will host a dining fundraiser for the Greenhouse Project on Friday, and artist Jakota Wass performs at Bella Vita Bistro. The 43rd annual Wild Sheep Show will be held at the Reno-Sparks Convention. Comedian Marc Yaffee headlines the Carson Comedy Club on Saturday with much more in store for the weekend! So when Parent called Dixon to ask him to come look for a particular deer in Carson City last weekend, Dixon was more than happy to drive down.
However, this was no ordinary deer hunt, but instead, a deer rescue.

Through the years, Carson City has changed. There have been good times and there have been times that, as Thomas Paine wrote, “have tried men’s souls.” We’ve lost some historic and iconic structures but have bounced back in the good times. The biggest recent changes occurred in 2016 with the reimagining of the downtown core that continues today.

The Hunt has become an honorary Nevada Day tradition for Carson City and the surrounding areas, during which clues are released to the community with the goal of finding the mysterious Treasure Hunt medallion before the other hunters. From Mormon Station to Rancho San Rafael to the Nevada State Museum, you'll never know where the end of the hunt will be, but searching is half the fun!
