While not illegal or encouraged, the Carson City Sheriff's Office is staffed up to make sure that whoever chooses to do anything non-sanctioned, including independent parading on Carson Street, that whatever they choose to do is done without breaking the law.

Nevada Raider Nation - Carson City Chapter will host a Las Vegas Raiders game watch at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 at Jimmy G's in Carson City.

All Raiders fans are welcome to join the fun and excitement of our Las Vegas Raiders as they take on the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland.

For anyone who would like to join the Chapter, membership is $25 per person. You must be 21+ to patronize Jimmy G's, 301 N. Carson St.

The Chapter will have food on hand for members. Drawings will be held during the second half of the game for great Raiders swag.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020 that there are 15 new cases and 23 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,739, with 1,541 recoveries and 21 deaths; 177 cases remain active.

Local eatery Juan's Mexican Grill to open second location in downtown Carson City

Juan Salazar first moved to Carson City 16 years ago to be closer to his parents who were, at the time, operating an eatery within Mo and Sluggo's.

Since then, the family has been serving up dishes throughout Carson City, first at Mo and Sluggo's (now Westside Pour House), then at the Horseshoe Club (now closed), and finally at the Comstock Casino, where they remain as Juan's Mexican Grill.

COVID-19 rapid test through UNR lab has successful results, research moves to next stages

Rapid detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, in about 30 seconds following the test, has had successful preliminary results in Mano Misra’s lab at the University of Nevada, Reno. The test uses a nanotube-based electrochemical biosensor, a similar technology that Misra has used in the past for detecting tuberculosis and colorectal cancer as well as detection of biomarkers for food safety.

High Volume of Positive Covid-19 reported at assisted living facility in Yerington

Lyon County officials have been notified that an assisted living facility, Mason Valley Residence, in Yerington had a high number of positive tests for COVID-19.

It is reported that 34 out of 53 tests results were positive.
