Carson City Museums — Keep on Thinking, Learning
Submitted by editor on Fri, 01/27/2012 - 9:20amWhen we were young it was always the field trip that got us out of the classroom to see for ourselves what our teachers wanted us to learn. The museum is always a place of wonder; a time machine that transports you to places where there were no smart phones or computers, let alone electricity and flushing toilets. Carson City has some great museums filled with enough old time artifacts, pictures and interactive learning centers to intrigue parents and their children.

Fitness on a Wire: Reasons to start getting healthy
Submitted by Jerry Vance on Fri, 01/20/2012 - 3:50pmHave you given any thought to building your body up and increasing your overall health? Would you like a few reasons why you should?
Let's start with a tremendous gain in cardiovascular endurance. When you chase your kids you’ll be able to catch them. Endurance means your heart rate will drop and your heart will beat less to supply your body with the needed oxygen. The proper terminology is "greater stroke volume". You will achieve better circulation, and during cold winter months your body will benefit greatly from that increase.

Some would call it a green tree, not just because of its color, but because the tree is made entirely of recycled materials – old books.
The 9.5-foot tree was constructed using pre-1950 National Union Catalog books. The rarely used reference books made an ideal book tree, with their evergreen covers and gold lettering on the spine.

His films were largely destroyed to make such things as guitar picks.
