Holiday weekend thus far results in several misdemeanor, handful of felony arrests

A 61-year-old Carson City man faces a misdemeanor DUI charge after allegedly driving his Dodge Ram through the yard of a Mayflower Way home on Friday afternoon, breaking a fence and crashing into an unoccupied Jeep, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to the residence and made contact with the driver of the pickup. The man said he was OK and told the officer that he had nothing to do with the accident. The man was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, which was flipped on its side.

The officer observed the man was the only occupant in the vehicle. He asked the man if he would participate in field sobriety tests in which the man agreed, showing signs of impairment on all tests, the arrest report states. He was arrested at 3:23 p.m. and taken to jail where he was read the Nevada Implied Consent, which he stated he understood and chose to complete a blood test. Bail: $1,137.

In other arrests: A 32-year-old Dayton man was arrested Friday, 9:12 a.m. in the area of Centennial and Highway 50 on a contempt of court warrant issued July 14, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $175.

— A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 10:07 a.m. in the 1600 block of Wendy Lane on a misdemeanor warrant charge of contempt of court. Bail: $500.

– A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 11:31 a.m. in the 30 block of Kit Sierra Loop on a misdemeanor warrant charge of domestic battery. The warrant was issued Aug. 22, 2014 out of Carson City Municipal Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 35-year-old Carson City man, Robert Allen Cantrell, was arrested Friday, 10:07 p.m. in the 1800 block of East Long Street on a felony warrant for probation violation. Another man was arrested on two misdemeanor warrant charges for failure to appear.

— A 30-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 11:52 p.m. in the 200 block of East Adams on misdemeanor warrant charges of criminal contempt and petit larceny. According to the arrest report, officers were called to the residence in regard to a woman who was concerned about her vehicle that she said her husband took without permission. Officers advised the woman that she had two outstanding warrants for her arrest. Bail: $493.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 10:26 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Telegraph Street on a misdemeanor charge of trespass. The man was inside a bar and refused to leave and had to be escorted out. Bail: $242.

— A 27-year-old Grass Valley woman, Tamara Elizabeth Link, was arrested Saturday, 7:12 p.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.

According to the arrest report offers were contacted by security at a casino regarding drug sales in one of the bars. On arrival Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team officers met with the woman and three men. The men denied knowing anything about sales of drugs in the casino.

An officer spoke with Link and read her Miranda rights. The woman said the drugs were in a fanny pack she was wearing. Officers asked if they could look inside for the drugs. Link agreed. Inside was a small zippered pouch, where officers located a spoon, a small piece of straw and a small zip lock baggy with methamphetamine. Bail: $2,500.

— A 60-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 5:38 p.m. in the 100 block of Corbett Street on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. Officers were called to the area regarding an intoxicated man who had trouble standing and kept falling down.
Officers arrived and found the man grossly intoxicated, sitting in a puddle of spilled beer, urine and vomit next to two empty tall cans of Steel Reserve.

Officers asked the man to identify himself but he would not. He told officers he didn’t do anything wrong and told them to leave. An officer asked the man several more times for his identification. The man then began yelling at the officers. He was verbally uncooperative and had a hard time standing but wasn’t physically combative until he became aggressive with jail staff and was placed in a padded cell for his protection. Bail: $242.

— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 4:08 p.m. in the 1000 block of Round House Lane on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear in traffic court. Bail: $388.

— A 46-year-old transient was arrested Saturday, 7:25 p.m. at Carson Tahoe Hospital on misdemeanor charges of violation of pre-trial conditions and destruction of property. The man allegedly pulled a dry erase board off of a wall at the hospital and broke it. Hospital staff said the man was agitated and staff felt unsafe with him in the building. Bail: $3,637.

— Carson City sheriff’s deputies arrested a brother and sister Saturday, 11:20 p.m. in the 1400 block of Kingsley Lane, charging them both with obstructing an officer.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area near Kitchen Drive regarding a battery where the reporting witness said a woman was in the middle of the road crying.

Officers arrived in front of the residence and met with the 33-year-old woman, described as grossly intoxicated. She advised that she had been in a verbal argument with her mother who she said had left prior to arrival from deputies.

She told officers of how she held onto the vehicle as her mother drove away, falling to the ground and receiving abrasions on her head, arms, side and legs. The woman declined medical treatment.

Deputies asked the woman if anyone was in the home or if anyone had left. The woman advised that everyone had left and only a child was inside the home. She advised she wanted to go inside and sit down. While inside the residence, the woman was asked again by officers if anyone was in the home.

The woman said that maybe her brother was in a bedroom. The brother was in the room, grossly intoxicated with a fat lip and blood on his face. Officers asked the man for his name. The man refused to provide officers with his name and advised he would not provide deputies with any information.

He was taken outside the home where officers could speak with him away from the woman, the arrest report states. As the officer was escorting the man, the woman rushed toward the deputy. She was told to step back. She refused, began to scream and attempted to push by, knocking a clipboard out of the hands of one of the officers. She was placed into handcuffs and detained, and then uncuffed after she had appeared calm and but then re-handcuffed and arrested when she charged her brother again. Bail: $402 each.

— A 33-year-old Dayton man was arrested Saturday, 8:33 a.m. in the area of Robinson and Anderson streets on a misdemeanor warrant charge of criminal contempt. The man was stopped on expired license plate tags from September 2013 and learned of the bench warrant through dispatch. Bail: $290.

— A 56-year-old Carson City woman Jacqueline Marie Camp, was arrested early Sunday morning, 3:38 a.m. in the area of North Carson Street and Winnie Lane on a felony charge of intimidating a witness.

According to the arrest report, Camp was overheard by an officer telling two women “why did you call the cops on my brother?” and “you’re gonna get it.” The statements were related to the arrest of a 54-year-old Carson City man earlier that night in the area of 1900 North Carson Street on misdemeanor charges of violation of a restraining order and two counts violation of pretrial supervision.
Camp allegedly walked up to the two women and made the threatening statements, causing both women to step away from her. Bail: $10,000.

— A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 1:07 a.m. in the 3300 block of Airport Road on a misdemeanor battery charge.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to a bar and learned that a man had become irate after losing a game of pool and punched a bystander in the face when he explained to the suspect that he lost the game because he knocked the 8 ball into the pocket. Bail: $1,137.

— A 19-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Sunday, 1:06 p.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Aug. 14, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court for failure to obtain substance abuse evaluation. Bail: $500.

Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
