Charles in charge, Senators blank Vikings in series opener
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE -- David Charles wasn't a wash with sentimentality after his final start on the mound of his baseball career at Carson High. That frame of mind was a big reason why Charles wasn't caught up in any uncontrolled emotions and threw five shutout innings. And why Charles will be moving on to the next level.
Behind Charles, CHS needed only four hits to roll to an 11-0 win at South Tahoe on Wednesday. Carson (6-10 in the Sierra League) used 10 walks along with its four hits to easily beat the Viking in the first of a three-game series at South Tahoe to conclude the regular season.
