Sunday, Oct. 8: Things to do around Carson City and beyond

It might be a blustery Sunday, but the snow isn’t falling yet so enjoy what’s left of our Indian Summer. Whatever you couldn’t cram into Saturday is probably still around: the Aviation Round-up, Italian Festival, and the Outhouse races are still going strong. The Carson City BMX season is coming to an end soon, go check out their races at Livermore Sports Complex. Some weekends are pretty cut and dry, just a few things to choose among. This, however, is not one of those weekends. High-flying, death-defying action takes over the Minden Airport as the Aviation Roundup Air Show takes to the skies. Pasta-lovers won’t want to miss the Eldorado Great Italian Festival in downtown Reno. Carson City’s monthly Downtown Wine Walk gets a dose of nostalgia as the Western Airstream Convention sets up shop and welcomes the curious.

Due Sorella's Fall Vintage Faire in downtown Carson City

Due Sorella's Fall Vintage Faire is Saturday, Oct. 7, running 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Located at the corner of Musser and Nevada Streets, the Faire will feature several vendors, yummy food, and toe-tapping music. Come down and find some treasures at Carson City's favorite place for everything vintage.

Come on down to the best indoor flea market in Carson City. We will have lots of different vendors selling arts, crafts, antiques, jewelry and so much more. We are located on Old Clear Creek road across from Costco inside the big metal building. Starts at 8-3 on Oct. 14 and 9-3 on Oct. 15. Admission is $1 for adults over 18 and kids are free. Carson City Historical Society Bear and Doll Show and Sale

Friday, Sept. 29: Things to do in Carson City

Rumble, rumble, rumble. Street Vibrations brings quite a bit of traffic to the area, so please drive safely amoungst the swarms of bikes. Battle Born Harley is hosting one heck of a party, so head down there for bikes, brews, and lots of live music. For something quieter, the final weekend of 'Nightfall with Edgar Allen Poe' at the Brewery Arts Center is a great alternative. Funny lady and local favorite, Kat Simmons, is this week's featured performer at Carson Comedy inside the Nugget - stick around downtown and enjoy Southbound Train at the Westside Pour House.

Taylor Creek Visitor Center at Lake Tahoe hosts Fall Fish Festival

There’s more than one way to travel in Nevada, and our railways are the topic at both of Carson City’s museums. Learn about the Glenbrook Steam Engine’s history and what it took to get her back on track at the Nevada Railroad Museum. Steven Drew will lecture on the railroads of Lake Tahoe at the Nevada State Museum tonight. Get in the Street Vibrations mood at Battle Born Harley. A concert featuring Justin Lee, in addition to bikes and brews, will kick off their celebration. Families will want to attend the outdoor movie in McFadden Plaza.

Wednesday, Sept. 27: Things to do in Carson City

Street Vibrations is a celebration of all things motorcycle, but today the only cycle that truly matters is the three-wheeled one that belongs to Glen Lucky. A lot of towns have local celebrities; most everyone has seen Glen Lucky on the side of the road, pushing his bike to take him further. Today, the Nevada State Museum invites everyone to help Lucky celebrate his 65th birthday, complete with cake and a huge group photo.

2017 Street Vibrations Fall Rally in Carson City runs Wednesday through Sunday

Fall motorcycle riding has never been better and will be even more so this week as the Battle Born Harley Davidson 2017 Street Vibrations Fall Rally begins this Wednesday and runs through Sunday in Carson City.

Stewart Indian School annual Powwow recognized with national award

The Stewart Indian School Father's Day Powwow often stands out to attendees by the setting alone. “It’s a beautiful campus with multicolored stone buildings as well as the the grassy field,” said Sherry Rupert, executive director of the Nevada Indian Commission. “That’s a big attraction because most powwows are held in dirt or in parking lots.”

Concert for Carl Howell Memorial Music Festival moved to Westside Pour House

Musical acts scheduled Saturday night for the Carl Howell Memorial Music Festival at Battle Born Harley Davidson were rained out on the outdoor stage by thunderstorms moving through the area.

Eyes on Carson City: Carson Tahoe HopeFest 2017

Hundreds turned out Friday evening in support of the Carson Tahoe Health Foundation's HopeFest 2017, an annual fundraiser that benefits cancer patients and their families.
