It might be a blustery Sunday, but the snow isn’t falling yet so enjoy what’s left of our Indian Summer. Whatever you couldn’t cram into Saturday is probably still around: the Aviation Round-up, Italian Festival, and the Outhouse races are still going strong. The Carson City BMX season is coming to an end soon, go check out their races at Livermore Sports Complex. Some weekends are pretty cut and dry, just a few things to choose among. This, however, is not one of those weekends. High-flying, death-defying action takes over the Minden Airport as the Aviation Roundup Air Show takes to the skies. Pasta-lovers won’t want to miss the Eldorado Great Italian Festival in downtown Reno. Carson City’s monthly Downtown Wine Walk gets a dose of nostalgia as the Western Airstream Convention sets up shop and welcomes the curious.

Due Sorella's Fall Vintage Faire is Saturday, Oct. 7, running 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Located at the corner of Musser and Nevada Streets, the Faire will feature several vendors, yummy food, and toe-tapping music. Come down and find some treasures at Carson City's favorite place for everything vintage.

The Carson City Historical Society is holding a Bear and Doll Show and Sale on Saturday, October 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendors and collectors will showcase dolls and bears from vintage to contemporary hand made.There will be bears, dolls and their accessories for sale.

Motorcycles of all makes and models coasted to Carson City during the annual Battle Born Harley Davidson 2017 Street Vibrations Fall Rally.

With all the motorcycles on the road, you may be looking for some peace and quiet. Luckily, it’s fee-free day at all of the Nevada State Parks. Load up the kids, pack a picnic, at head to the great outdoors. Don’t miss out on the last-of-the-season Farmers Market at Third and Curry, stock up on local honey and load your basket with yummy stuff. Oktoberfest takes over the McFadden Plaza at 3 p.m. Bavarian and German beers, authentic food, and live music await. Keep reading for everything the area has to offer.

Rumble, rumble, rumble. Street Vibrations brings quite a bit of traffic to the area, so please drive safely amoungst the swarms of bikes. Battle Born Harley is hosting one heck of a party, so head down there for bikes, brews, and lots of live music. For something quieter, the final weekend of 'Nightfall with Edgar Allen Poe' at the Brewery Arts Center is a great alternative. Funny lady and local favorite, Kat Simmons, is this week's featured performer at Carson Comedy inside the Nugget - stick around downtown and enjoy Southbound Train at the Westside Pour House.

Celebrate the annual fall migration of the Kokanee salmon at the 2017 Fall Fish Festival held at Taylor Creek Visitor Center in South Lake Tahoe on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7-8.

There’s more than one way to travel in Nevada, and our railways are the topic at both of Carson City’s museums. Learn about the Glenbrook Steam Engine’s history and what it took to get her back on track at the Nevada Railroad Museum. Steven Drew will lecture on the railroads of Lake Tahoe at the Nevada State Museum tonight. Get in the Street Vibrations mood at Battle Born Harley. A concert featuring Justin Lee, in addition to bikes and brews, will kick off their celebration. Families will want to attend the outdoor movie in McFadden Plaza.

Street Vibrations is a celebration of all things motorcycle, but today the only cycle that truly matters is the three-wheeled one that belongs to Glen Lucky. A lot of towns have local celebrities; most everyone has seen Glen Lucky on the side of the road, pushing his bike to take him further. Today, the Nevada State Museum invites everyone to help Lucky celebrate his 65th birthday, complete with cake and a huge group photo.

Fall motorcycle riding has never been better and will be even more so this week as the Battle Born Harley Davidson 2017 Street Vibrations Fall Rally begins this Wednesday and runs through Sunday in Carson City.

One might think that the end of summer means that the fun times are over: they would be wrong. This list of happenings in the Carson City area isn’t getting any shorter. The annual Genoa Candy Dance is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, and this weekend welcomes the first ever Silver State Arts Festival at Fuji Park, as well. The first ever Community Garage Sale at the Community Center offers one-stop bargain hunting. Swing into the season at the monthly dance party hosted by the High Sierra Swing Dance Club.

The Stewart Indian School Father's Day Powwow often stands out to attendees by the setting alone. “It’s a beautiful campus with multicolored stone buildings as well as the the grassy field,” said Sherry Rupert, executive director of the Nevada Indian Commission. “That’s a big attraction because most powwows are held in dirt or in parking lots.”

The Carson City Historical Society's second and last flea market yard sale of the summer will be this Saturday at the Foreman-Roberts House Museum park.

I’m going to suggest that you keep this weekend’s plans flexible. There’s only a chance of rain, but the chance of it showing up at the wrong time is always high. The very early morning is best spent watching the hot air balloons against the Reno skyline, but you’ll probably want a sweater for the pre-dawn chill. Head up the hill to Virginia City this weekend. The Young Dubliners and Cíana brought down the house Saturday night on the Minnesota Street Stage at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall parking lot, bringing the 2017 Levitt AMP Carson City Summer Concert Series to a close.

Summer is holding on for dear life, and sending a miniature heat wave our way for this long weekend. For those of you not in Black Rock City, the Carson City region offers plenty of recreation and entertainment. Downtown will be hopping with the Farmers Market, monthly Wine Walk, and this season’s last outdoor concert at the Brewery Arts Center – and that’s just Saturday! The award-winning ribs served up by Carson City BBQ are among the 22 entries for the 29th annual Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off that begins this Wednesday, Aug. 30 and runs through Monday, Sept. 4 at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks.

You’ll see some pretty interesting vehicles on the road these next few days, as travelers from all over head to Burning Man. If you aren’t off to the Playa yourself, there will be plenty of fun around town to keep you and your family occupied. The second annual Family Fun Day in Mills Park is your best bet for kids of all ages. This week’s free concert at Brewery Arts Center features the Dusty Green Bones. Don’t forget your dancing shoes; they’re sure to keep you on your feet.

In a matter of minutes, the parking lot at 511 West King Street in downtown Carson City went from a couple dozen to several dozen people participating in the new Wheeled Food Wednesdays community event organized by the Brewery Arts Center.

Come on down to the flea market for a great time and find lots of treasures. We have the indoor market once a month inside the big metal building at Fuji Park Carson City across from Costco on Old Clear Creek Road. We are open Sat. Sept 9 From 8-4 and Sunday 9-4. Admission is $1 for adults and kids are free under 18. Lots of parking. We feature lots of great vendors selling knives, food, crafts, antiques, collectibles and jewelry and so much more. You never know what you will find. But you will have a good time.

Musical acts scheduled Saturday night for the Carl Howell Memorial Music Festival at Battle Born Harley Davidson were rained out on the outdoor stage by thunderstorms moving through the area.

A pair of classic and custom car shows brought out the chrome and reflective paint on dozens of unique rides featured Saturday in Carson City.

Hundreds turned out Friday evening in support of the Carson Tahoe Health Foundation's HopeFest 2017, an annual fundraiser that benefits cancer patients and their families.
