Lake Tahoe Summerfest prepares for series of August classical concerts

A series of classical music concerts featuring a 38 piece symphony orchestra of world-renowned artists highlights Lake Tahoe SummerFest in August. Weekend performances include Friday and Saturday night symphonies and Sunday programming for families.

Jazz through the week in Carson City

This week's music lineup continues as Jazz! Carson City 2011 has several shows planned in the coming days. Jazz! Carson City is a month-long festival hosted by the Mile High Jazz Band Association, Carson City, local businesses, and jazz lovers.

Jazz! Carson City fires up with Clooney tribute, ice cream social

A tribute to Rosemary Clooney and an ice cream social with live music will kick off a month-jazz extravaganza for the 8th annual Jazz! Carson City Music Festival.

Linda Merrell will perform a jazz tribute to Rosemary Clooney on Sunday, July 31, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at Sierra Place Senior Living, 1111 W. College Parkway in Carson City.

The Jazz Guys at Comma Coffee

The Mile High Jazz Band presents the Jazz Guys with Kenn Pettiford, from 8 to 10 p.m., at the courtyard at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St., Carson City. Admission is $5 general, and free for ages 18 and under. Dance lessons precede the band, 6-7:15 pm., for $5 additional.

Lake Tahoe's Valhalla Arts, Music and Theater Festival gets spicy, funky and downright funny

LAKE TAHOE — Visitors and locals alike can head to the shoreline of the Tallac Historic Site for some of the area’s most unique and diverse entertainment. The Valhalla Arts, Music, and Theatre Festival is bringing down the house with its July line-up and it’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
