Carson City Supervisor Brad Bonkowski to speak at Democratic luncheon

Brad Bonkowski, Carson City Ward 2 Supervisor and Chair of the Carson City RTC (Regional Transportation Commission) will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. His appearance is intended as a town hall on the still unresolved issue of how maintenance of Carson's 676 lane-miles of roadway should be funded.

CARSON CITY — January is National Radon Action Month, and University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s Radon Education Program is offering free short-term radon test kits to Nevadans from Jan. 2 through Feb. 28. Radon test kits are available at Cooperative Extension offices and partnering locations, as well as at presentations, statewide.

Heller, Amodei attend Carson City Chamber luncheon amid protests

United States Sen. Dean Heller and U.S. Rep. Mark Amodei were the featured guest speakers at Wednesday's monthly Soup's On luncheon series sponsored by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

Their presence attracted a sold-out crowd inside the banquet room at the Gold Dust West Casino, 2171 East William Street in Carson City, as well as dozens of protesters outside of the facility.

Carson City weather: Heavy valley rain, several feet of snow in Sierra with arriving storm

Another atmospheric river is headed our way today through Tuesday bringing periods of torrential rain and strong winds to Carson City, the valley areas and several feet of snow to the Sierra and Lake Tahoe, according to the National Weather Service.
