Capital City Arts Initiative presents 'New Crop 2019' exhibit

CCAI will host an opening reception on Friday, June 7, 5 to 7 p.m. The artists will give a brief talk about their work at 5:30 p.m. The exhibition will be in the gallery from June 7 to Sept. 26, 2019.

Children's Museum in Carson City to host summer science camp

Carson City Ski Program is back for 6-12th graders, partners with Boreal Ski Resort

The program ended around 2012, due to a low enrollment brought on by the recession. But now, Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space has partnered with Boreal Ski Resort to bring the program back.

CCAI will host an opening reception on Friday, Oct. 5, 5-7 p.m. The exhibition will be in the gallery from October 5, 2018 to Jan. 31, 2019.
The Courthouse is located at 885 E Musser Street, Carson City. The reception and the exhibition are free and the public is cordially invited. The gallery is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Carson City Fire Department responds to two gas leaks

The Carson City Fire Department was dispatched late Friday morning at around 11:45 a.m. to a reported natural gas leak at a residence in the 1600 block of Forrest Way.
Then at about 11:55 a.m., a second gas leak was reported to dispatch at a residence in the 2400 block of South Lompa Lane.

Nine University of Nevada, Reno students have work in the art exhibit. CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Friday, Sept. 7 from 5–7 p.m. The free exhibition is available to the public through Oct. 9, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m.
"The Wind Calls" includes work by Mahedi Anjuman, Nicki Bracco, Mark Combs, Teal Francis, Hannah Huntley, Gwaylon Leaf, Frances Melhop, Ally Messer, and Carla Miller.
