Learn what's popping up in your garden at the Shoe Tree Brewery. Experts will be around to help you discern what could cause you trouble during tonight's 'Bring Your Own Noxious Weed' event. All ages karaoke at the Fox Brewpub is a fun way to finish a Monday night.

The event starts at 6 p.m. The coalition will tell you if your plants are noxious or not, and how to get rid of them if they are.

A celebration is planned for June 16, 2018 starting at noon. There will be live bands, yard games, and a special release of Lapel DIPA in honor of the anniversary.

Join Muscle Powered and our Parks and Recreation Department at the Silver Saddle Ranch for a presentation and trash mob. Kids will love the Carnival at Bordewich Elementary School, and it helps raise funds for a local Cub Scout Pack. Mark Twain Elementary is hosting their annual Color Run at Mills Park, just make sure to wear a white shirt.

Best I can tell, St. Patrick’s Day parties are not deterred by a little snowfall. There will be no parade in Virginia City, but the Rocky Mountain Oyster Fest is on. Head to downtown Carson for more green beer, Irish music, and corned beef and cabbage than you’ll know what to do with.

Take a trip to the hospital: Carson Tahoe is throwing its annual Spooktacular Stroll, complete with candy, prizes, a bounce house, and more. Head up to Virginia City if you’d like some thrills. The Mackay Mansion is open for its second annual haunted house, even though it’s got a reputation for being haunted year-round. Douglas kids will enjoy a Halloween party at the local Minden Library.

Stick around for the annual fall Blinky Man Costumed Nighttime Bike Ride Pub Crawl with Lights. Halloween festivities, a carnival in Mills Park, and opening night of the La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow are on today’s list, as well.

Fundraiser for Carson City girl with brain tumor at Shoe Tree Brewing Company
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 09/13/2017 - 9:03amThere will be a fundraiser Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Shoe Tree Brewing Company for Iliana Avila, an 8 year old girl from Carson City with an inoperable brain tumor, (DIPG).
She is currently under care at UCSF, where she is undergoing radiation to slow down the progression of her tumor. All funds collected at the event will help relieve some of the financial stress as her family spends as much time as possible with her.
