Salon Chocolat presents its second annual Hair Show Manifesto: An Evening of Enchantment on July 13 at 177 West Proctor Street, Carson City.

Please join us for a runway show showcasing avant garde hair and makeup. We will have live entertainment by singer Ashley Kepler, with an after party to follow with DJ MO BEATZ. Ticket and raffle proceeds will go towards the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity that helps support injured service men and women.

Rotary Club of Carson City Announces Winners of Second Annual Beer and Pizza Championships

CARSON CITY, NV - For the second year in a row, area residents came out by the hundreds to enjoy an evening of pizza, beer, music and fundraising for a good cause. The second annual Carson City Rotary Club Beer and Pizza Championships was a big success, raising more than $25,000 to assist with a number of community needs.

Celebrate Earth Day with Festival of Earthly Treasures and Healing Arts

Come spend the day and celebrate Earth Day with us at our second annual Festival of Earthly Treasures and Healing Arts from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday, April 21st at the Plaza Event Center in Carson City. We will be featuring rocks, gems, healing arts, free workshops, readings and silent auction.

Raffles prizes will be given away every 20 minutes. Only $5 admission and kids 12 and under are free. All proceeds to benefit Esperanza Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit corporation dedicated to healing Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome in all of us.

On Good Friday (March 29), we will have an open-house format Stations of the Cross exhibit from noon to 7pm. It will consist of 14 interactive stations created by a team of our members. The stations pair 14 events from Jesus' last day with a wide variety of artistic media. Our objective is to present the events of Good Friday in ways that engage the imagination of participants and inspire reflection, new understanding, and worship. This will be our second annual exhibit. Please come and visit our exhibit!

Students win big at Northern Nevada FIRST TECH Challenge Robotics Championship

The FIRST NV organization, organized the Second Annual Northern Nevada FIRST TECH Challenge was held Saturday at Carson High School in Carson City. High school teams from Nevada, California, Oregon, and Utah competed in a full day robotics competition for two seeds to the World Festival Robotics Competition to be held in April.

Dayton Rice Project Feeds Families for Three Months

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dayton Ward, is hosting its second annual fundraiser and rice-canning event to help support the Dayton Food Pantry.

The Dayton Rice Project consists of a fundraiser to obtain the needed funds to purchase bulk rice and canning supplies. “Church and community members are encouraged to abstain from food for one or more meals and donate the money that would have been spent on food to support the project,” says Pam Neumeister, Dayton Ward Humanitarian Specialist.

Hot wings dished up spicy this weekend in Carson City

Whether they come hot, mild or fire, there's plenty of heat to be found this early fall weekend in Carson City. The Ultimate Wing Wars, a chicken wing cook-off event at the Best Western Carson Station Hotel Casino in Carson City, continues through Sunday.
This second annual event was organized by W.R. “Willie” Davison the self-proclaimed “Chicken Wing King.” The festival features the region’s best bars, restaurants and catering groups who are dishing up their sauced-up wings to the public and are fighting for bragging rights as to who has the best wings.

Second annual Ultimate Wing Wars at Carson Station through Sunday

Expect feathers to fly. The Ultimate Wing Wars, a chicken wing cook-off event at the Best Western Carson Station Hotel Casino in Carson City is now underway, today through Sunday in the parking lot at 900 S. Carson Street.

“Last year’s inaugural chicken wing cook-off event was a tremendous success with thousands in attendance,” said Jennifer Russell, Carson Station’s director of marketing. “This is year we’re upping the ante with more wings, more prizes, more music and more fun.”

Mountain Bike Nevada Seeks Adventure Riders

For the second time in history, mountain bike enthusiasts are welcome to join their peers on a great "Mountain Bike Nevada" adventure and ride through Nevada, border to border, from Sept. 8-18, 2012. "We're looking for riders who want to experience an epic ride across some of state's most spectacular terrain," said Todd Whear, ride organizer and event co-founder. The journey is touted as "once in a life-time experience" and is a fund-raising event for the Nevada Public Education Foundation.
