'A Taste of the Good Life' now serving up lunchtime fare at Living the Good Life in Carson City

A Taste of the Good Life is run by Eddie Miller, who has taken it upon herself to offer a tastings menu at the Good Life from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Seasonal closures apply to many Forest Service recreation sites including beaches, campgrounds, picnic areas and National Forest roads.
Nevada retailers projected to hire more than 7,000 workers for holiday season

In the Silver State, the Retail Association of Nevada estimates retailers will boost hiring by 7,100 new positions during the October-to-December holiday shopping period.
September unemployment claims in Nevada down 12.8 percent compared to August
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 10/20/2019 - 10:54amCARSON CITY — Initial claims for unemployment insurance benefits totaled just over 8,400 in September, down over 1,200 claims, or 12.8 percent compared to August, according to the latest figures compiled by the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. Relative to September 2018, claims are up 1.8 percent, with 150 more claims.

Both agencies are working together to ensure the public is safely harvesting pine nuts and aware of the regulations. The length of the pine nut harvest season varies depending on crop quality and seasonal weather conditions.

Forest Service seeks input for Winter Travel Management at Lake Tahoe

The Proposed Action was developed based on Forest Service criteria and feedback received from stakeholders during the Forest Plan Revision process, open house meetings and winter recreation collaborative meetings that occurred between 2011 and 2016.

If the cold nights didn’t alert me that fall is near, my flowers and trees would. Leaves are turning yellow on the neighborhood poplars and ash trees. Some maples are already changing to autumn oranges and reds.

Daylight hours are beginning to reflect the occurrence of seasonal change. To ensure adequate and safe accommodations for range enthusiasts the range must adopt the new operational hours.
