According to a letter sent to parents from Carson High School, summer school registration is now open for any student who has failed a core class and would like to retake a course.

Nevada Commission for Women and the Nevada Women’s Suffrage Celebration Committee formed to help facilitate collaboration among organizations in Nevada to celebrate and commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment. As part of her Carson High School Senior Project graduation requirement, student, and committee member, Chloe Walt is working to educate Nevadans on the suffrage movement and the historic importance of the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

Our mission is to raise money to help fund suicide awareness and prevention. All of our proceeds are split in two and donated to our local scholarship (Jordan Woodward Memorial Scholarship) and the suicide prevention network.

Eagle Valley Christian School (EVCS) is now registering students for grades 1-8 for the 2017-2018 school year! EVCS is part of the Adventist Education System, the largest Protestant school system in the world.

Oh baby, it’s cold outside. Jack Frost seems to be working overtime this weekend, bringing temperatures that will barely rise above freezing. I suggest some hot cocoa. Join Santa at Adele’s for pictures, cookies, and something warm to drink, just remember to bring an unwrapped toy to donate.

Got kids? Plenty of fun awaits. Start out at Dunkin Donuts for their Community Celebration complete with face painting and more. Love on a Leash at the Carson City Library will give them a chance to practice their reading skills with a non-judgmental furry friend. Celebrate the Asian New Year with crafts and music at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada.
