Holly Welborn, Policy Director at the ACLU of Nevada, will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. She will speak in opposition to Question 1, the Marsy's Law Crime Victims Rights Amendment, which is on the November ballot as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment.

A “no” vote would retain existing victim rights added to the Nevada constitution by a 1996 ballot measure in lieu of replacing them with a more extensive list of victim rights and specific enforcement provisions together known as a “Marsy's Law.”

Carson City Sheriff Kenneth T. Furlong will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. He will speak in support of Question 1, the Marsy's Law Crime Victims Rights Amendment, which is on the November ballot as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment. A "yes" vote supports the addition of specific crime victim rights, together known as a Marsy's Law, to the Nevada Constitution.

Kirk Caraway, owner/publisher of Carson Now, will be the featured speaker at Monday's Carson City Democratic luncheon. Originally from Kansas, Kirk began his career as a newspaper writer and editor, a time-honored family tradition, but migrated over time to online platforms. Nevada Appeal publisher Michael (Mick) Raher will be the featured speaker at Monday's Carson City Democratic luncheon. A native of Australia, Raher was named publisher in January after decades of experience in sales, marketing and media management. He is also an avid participant in our region's snow and water sports.

Associate Supreme Court Justice Lidia Stiglich will be the featured speaker at Monday's Carson City Democratic luncheon. Justice Stiglich took the bench in January, 2017 after appointment by Gov. Sandoval, having been a 2nd Judicial District judge in Reno since December, 2012.

Organizers of this weekend's 33rd annual Carson City car show known as Run What Cha Brung say it was a great success with 215 cars that were officially entered into the event held at Mills Park.

John Hadder, executive director of Great Basin Resource Watch, will be the featured speaker at Monday's Carson City Democratic luncheon.

GBRW is a Reno-based environmental justice organization dedicated to protecting the health and well being of the land, air, water, wildlife, and human communities of the Great Basin from the adverse effects of resource extraction and use. They advocate on behalf of policy solutions that reduce toxic emissions, protect water resources, and preserve human and wildlife habitat.

Brian Bahouth, news director at KNVC 95.1 FM, will be the featured speaker at the Democratic luncheon on Monday, July 2nd. Before coming to Carson City, he served as news director at three other community radio stations: KRZA in Alamosa, Colorado, KVMR in Nevada City and KUNR in Reno.
